Melicena is fantastically located, by the beach, close to several other villages and towns. Here, you can both relax and stay active. A nice stroll along the promenade or along the beach is a fantastic experience, especially when the sun sets far out in the ocean. In the summer of 2018, there opened a new restaurant bar in Melicena. Since this is new, the owners don't know if it will be run the whole year. However, they will try. Mid November 2018 it was still open and several people there. It is only 2km to the village of Los Yesos with a very popular bar / restaurant, 4km from the village of La Mamola with more services and amenities and 8km to the town of La Rabita.
